With big platforms like Facebook and Instagram, and relative newcomers like Snapchat and MeetUp constantly demanding our attention, it’s hard to imagine life before social media. Now in its eighth year, Mashable’s Social Media Day has become a recurring worldwide celebration for all things social—and this year, Lafayette is joining the party for a third year.
Agencies and organizations around Acadiana are coming together to educate the community and honor the media that connects us through Social Media Day Lafayette 2017. Our panel will feature a lineup of seminars, working sessions and networking activities—all of which will be free of charge and open to the public. Each class will take place at Opportunity Machine, located in Lafayette’s LITE Center at 537 Cajundome Blvd.
The celebration takes place on June 30 of every year and is intended to be a day of connection, education and exploration of the social platforms that make our highly interconnected lives possible. Events held in major cities around the world encourage users and businesses alike to network, interact and explore new ways of connecting with their peers and audiences.
