BBR Creative’s Hygiene for Humanity will make its 9th annual return, serving as a philanthropic event to raise awareness about hygiene inequality across Acadiana. Since inception, Hygiene for Humanity has provided thousands of hygiene products and supplies to individuals experiencing food, shelter and hygiene insecurities.
This year, from June 1 to June 21, BBR aims to collect hygiene products to benefit Catholic Charities’ Stella Maris Center Lafayette and other facilities which provide essential housing support, laundry and bathroom facilities, and hygiene products to those in our community. For many of these residents and visitors, hygiene supplies and bathroom facilities are otherwise unavailable. Lack of access to even these basic requirements can seriously affect the health and wellbeing of those experiencing housing insecurity.
Ben Broussard, Catholic Charities’ Chief of External Affairs, says that donations play a vital part in the Stella Maris Center. “Those in-kind donations are critical to making an operation like this work. Every bit helps us to serve a very vulnerable clientele who is often in need of these specific things.”
BBR is grateful for donation site sponsor, Rouses Markets, for helping to lead this mission. Full-size items that can be donated include but are not limited to:
● Shampoo
● Conditioner
● 2-in-1 Shampoo + Conditioner
● Body Wash
● Deodorant*
● Hand Sanitizer*
*Travel-sized also accepted
Donations can be dropped off at BBR headquarters in Downtown Lafayette (413 S. Pierce Street, Lafayette, LA 70501) or at any Rouses Markets across Acadiana.
