Chet Morrison Contractors is a worldwide leader in construction, maintenance and abandonment services for oil and gas. When it came time to launch their revolutionary SHARC tool, they needed sharp branding that would cut through the noise in the market. Through competitor analysis, brand identity development and marketing collateral, we delivered a comprehensive launch platform designed to make waves.

Product Naming & Branding

BBR was instrumental in developing the name of this new cutting tool: SHARC (Subsea Hydraulic Abrasive Rotating Cutter). Branding included the development of an eye-catching logo that incorporates a stylized shark in the name.

Additional Elements

A branded shark bottle opener and key chain with a promotional card giving product details proved to be a big hit with prospective clients at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.

PR efforts included drafting and distributing a product press release, as well as creating custom oil and gas industry media lists. BBR also arranged client interviews and feature articles with industry media. This resulted in a four-page feature article on Rigzone (a widely read industry news website) and a two-page article in Offshore Engineer magazine.
