Overcome the Challenge of Strategic Marketing Planning with a Trusted Guide
We all know the old adage: If you fail to plan, you’re planning to fail. Which begs the question — what are you going to do next year?
Sometimes you just need someone to guide you.
I have long known that I needed to exercise regularly, but man, I just could never get into a regular routine. It’s always been a whole lot of starts and stops with long dormant times in between. I’ve been a slacker — until five months ago when my daughter engaged a trainer to work with us early in the morning. With his reinforcement, this is now the longest I’ve ever stuck with any exercise regimen. (For those of you who do this all of the time, just know that this is SUPER big for me!)
I may not be lighter in weight, but I am stronger and, most importantly, I’ve drastically improved a serious issue with my back. I was in constant pain and have pretty much eliminated that. So yeah, I’ll call that a success. But what exactly is the difference between every other time I tried to exercise and now? I have a leader. Someone who guides me through the workout. Someone who I don’t want to let down. Someone who shows me the way, who motivates me and who wants me to do better by encouraging me and relishing my success.
I cannot help but think about the striking similarity between me and my trainer and BBR and our clients.
Most clients that contact us know their marketing should be better. They know they need to start somewhere. They are usually overwhelmed on where to start with strategic marketing planning and what they should focus on. But most don’t have a formal marketing plan. In fact, many don’t even have a documented action plan for the next year. Some have never planned and have no format to launch from. They’ve just been existing in a reactionary mindset, hoping the rug doesn’t get swiped from under them. However, all of them are committed to being better — they just need some help getting started. And this is the perfect time of year when owners, CEOs and marketing directors are best suited to think about planning their next steps.
We’ve found that the most effective way to develop a simple-to-use marketing plan is through a facilitated workshop, led by a seasoned marketing advisor. We call ours a Marketing Blueprint.
Our marketing advisors are just like my personal trainer — they help you improve your performance by analyzing where you are and creating a plan to get you where you want to be. Within a Marketing Blueprint, they help you establish a program that identifies and outlines your business objectives, marketing goals, communication strategies and initiatives, as well as your metrics of success.
Take it from me — sometimes a guide is the critical piece missing to make a big change and finally see results. If you want to do better and start 2023 off strong, reach out today to schedule a discussion with your own personal guide. We’d be happy to help you.
