Good Eats Kitchen celebrates first Baton Rouge location with grand opening

Good Eats Kitchen Grand Opening

(BATON ROUGE, La.) — Good Eats Kitchen officially celebrated the grand opening of its first Baton Rouge location on January 4, 2019. Located in the Ichiban Square shopping center at the intersection of Essen Lane and Perkins Road, GEK sells chef-inspired prepared meals along with healthy snack and beverage items. Surrounded by customers, friends, vendors, neighbors and other community supporters, GEK founder and owner Boyer Derise spoke to the assembled crowd about the significance of the day.

“We’re on a mission to revolutionize the concept of ‘fast food’,” he said. “Our meals are chef-driven, fresh, flavorful and nutritious dishes that our customers can feel good about eating and serving their families.”

A number of Good Eats Kitchen’s vendors and suppliers were present to celebrate the occasion and hand out free products. Big Easy Bucha handed out bottles of its Commemorative NOLA 300 Bucha, while Charlie & The PB Factory, Cultured Guru and Taylor Made also gave out samples.

Good Eats Kitchen has been designated a Level 3 Wellspot as part of the Louisiana Department of Health’s Well-Ahead Louisiana initiative. The company is a participant in the Eat Fit Baton Rouge campaign, offering several Eat-Fit approved meal choices. For those with dietary restrictions, there are sodium-conscious, vegetarian, carb-conscious and gluten-free options available. GEK also offers meals catering to high-protein diets like keto or paleo. Menus include breakfast and entrée dishes that vary seasonally and include monthly chef-created features.

The company is launching its Baton Rouge presence in more ways than one. Good Eats Kitchen recently made news following its acquisition of Baton Rouge’s Fresh Kitchen and its two stores, located at Corporate Boulevard and Willow Grove. Both are now being operated by GEK, though signage and branding updates won’t come until March.

Founded in 2016, Good Eats Kitchen offers chef-prepared cooked meals designed to deliver fresh, nutritious food with outstanding flavor.
