(Lafayette, La.) — Local advertising agency BBR Creative recently teamed with Habitat for Humanity to help build a home for a Lafayette family. The effort was part of Habitat for Humanity’s National Women Build Week, an event sponsored by Lowe’s. Now in its seventh year, Women Build encourages women to work together to help provide affordable housing for working families.
During the two-day project, BBR employees along with friends and volunteers from Home Bank, Lantec, Girl Scouts and TMC Foods worked together on a home on South Magnolia Street. Volunteers first wiped the walls clean of sawdust, then helped to remove plaster from floors, and primed and painted the four-bedroom home.
“BBR Creative recently designed the new website for Habitat, and as a woman-owned firm, they were the ideal choice to help lead this annual event,” said Melinda Taylor, Lafayette Habitat for Humanity’s executive director.
“We’re thrilled be part of National Women Build Week,” said BBR Creative Director and Partner Cathi Pavy. “Habitat is dedicated to making homeownership available to hard working families, and that’s a mission BBR is proud to support.”
