(Lafayette, La.) — The Arc of Acadiana, a nonprofit organization committed to the promotion and protection of the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will hold its Annual Membership Banquet Thursday, May 1, in New Iberia. University of Louisiana at Lafayette head football coach Mark Hudspeth will speak to the group. He is known across Acadiana as an inspirational coach that instills in his players the confidence they need to succeed in sports and in life.
The Arc of Acadiana’s Annual Membership Banquet is a formal luncheon bringing together Arc members, employees and clients. The banquet is Thursday, May 1 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Cajun RVera, located next to the SugArena, in New Iberia. In addition to hosting keynote speaker Coach Hudspeth, the banquet serves as a chance to discuss Arc of Acadiana’s plans throughout its six-parish territory for the coming year and to review the past year’s accomplishments and improvements. Since last year’s banquet, Arc has opened new locations in Lafayette and New Iberia, allowing them to provide a greater range of services to even more clients throughout Acadiana.
“We are delighted to have Coach Hud as our keynote speaker,” says Arc of Acadiana Chief Executive Officer Kenny Patton. “Everyone knows what a great motivator he is, and we’re excited to hear him speak. I’m certain it will be a speech to remember.”
This event is not open to the public, but members of the press are encouraged to attend.
