(Lafayette, La.) – Girl Scouts of Louisiana – Pines to the Gulf (GSLPG), proudly announces their “Girl Scouts Go Places” Facebook Photo Contest to share the experiences of scouts across the state. The grand-prize winner and her troop will receive a trip to the Global Wildlife Center in Folsom, La.
The “Girl Scouts Go Places” Photo Contest is open to any girl scout in the 42-parish service area of GSLPG. Scouts, their parents, and troop leaders may submit photos of the girls doing their favorite activities in unique or interesting places. Facebook members can vote for their favorite pictures and encourage their friends and family to do the same. The photos with the most votes will win prizes and all participating scouts will earn their “Go Places” patch.
Photos may be submitted until Sunday, October 14 via the GSLPG Facebook contest page or through Instagram by tagging #GSGoPlaces. Public voting begins October 15 and runs until October 28. The winners will be announced the following week (October 29-November 2).
The campaign is designed to increase engagement with current and past girl scouts and is made possible through the bi-annual Service Grant Program of BBR Creative. Non-profit organizations such as GSLPG that benefit women and children are paired with a skilled college undergraduate to design and implement a targeted campaign. BBR Creative intern and ULL Public Relations senior Bria Wheeler has worked closely with the Girl Scouts of Louisiana – Pines to the Gulf under the direction of the BBR Creative team to create this contest.
