(Lafayette, La.) – Lafayette Parish School System offered the first of three Centralized Registration Option days on Wednesday, July 25 at Lerosen Elementary. Approximately 450 parents attended the event to register their children and enroll them in ancillary services. They were given the opportunity to fill out any missing paperwork, submit documents for verification, ask questions and speak to school administrators.
In addition to completing the registration process, parents were able to enroll their children in a wide variety of auxiliary services, including Student Services, Special Education, 504, ESL, Health Services/ School Nurse, Transportation, Homeless Services, Child Welfare & Attendance, and Child Nutrition/School Lunch.
Any parents or guardians who were unable to attend the first day will have two additional opportunities on August 1 and August 8, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Lerosen Elementary on 516 E. Pinhook Rd. They can also register at each child’s school, though they will still need to take care of any additional service enrollment separately.
“Today’s registration went very well, and we’re already looking at what we can do streamline things for the next two dates,” said Bradley Cruice, LPSS’s new Director of Health and Wellness. “We’re encouraging parents to take advantage of this convenient new option for the fall school year.”
Parents can visit lpssonline.com or call 521-7090 for more information about what to bring with them to registration.
