(Lafayette, La.) — Doug Place, Chief Financial Officer for Dupré Logistics LLC, was recently elected Chairman of the Board of the Louisiana Motor Transport Association for 2011-2012. Elected officers were announced during the 71st Annual LMTA Convention held at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Destin, Florida.
A member of the LMTA since 2004, Place served as President from 2010-2011, First Vice President from 2009-2010 and Second Vice President from 2008-2009. Additionally, he has served on the LMTA Board of Directors since 2007.
“It is a great honor to be elected Chairman of the Board of the Louisiana Motor Transport Association for the upcoming term,” said Place. “I look forward to advocating for positive change in our industry.”
In his new role as Chairman of the Board, Place and the other elected officers will address industry issues related to truck and transportation safety, the Louisiana and National Highway Systems, the continued improvement of drivers and the overall health of the truck and transportation industry.

The Louisiana Motor Transport Association is the non-profit trade association representing approximately 350 trucking industry and related companies throughout Louisiana.
