The Arc of Acadiana and Lafayette Auto Dealer Association
Announce Bead Drive

(Lafayette, La.) — The Arc of Acadiana, along with the Lafayette Auto Dealer Association, is pleased to announce a Bead Drive to help the developmentally and intellectually disabled in the community. The campaign will kick off February 13 and continue until March 31.

The beads will be collected, detangled, recycled and resold, all of which provide employment opportunities to the Arc's clients in Acadiana with disabilities. The Arc of Acadiana and LADA encourage everyone to donate their leftover Mardi Gras beads by dropping them off at any of the following LADA dealerships:

Service Chevrolet — Acadiana Dodge, Mazda — Courtesy GMC, Buick, Cadillac — Giles Nissan, Volvo, Subaru — Southwest Volkswagen — Hampton Toyota, Mitsubishi — Sterling Kia, Hyundai, Suzuki — Moss Motors Honda, BMW, Mercedes-Benz — Hub City Ford

Arc of Acadiana is committed to securing for all people with disabilities the opportunity to develop, participate and live life to their fullest potential, which includes job training and employment. The Arc of Acadiana's Director of Employment Services, Katherine Simoneaux said, "We're very excited to launch this bead drive, which will help us tremendously both in terms of fundraising and for providing employment opportunities to our clients. We appreciate the support from the community and the help from our friends at LADA."

Marked boxes for bead drop-off will be placed at all LADA dealerships during the drive, where teams of clients from the Arc of Acadiana will be collecting them. "The Lafayette Auto Dealers Association is proud to partner with Arc of Acadiana for this campaign. We are committed to serving the community, and this drive will provide much needed employment and funding for a great organization," said LADA president Ryan LeBlanc.
