Aiding Japan Through Design

In the wake of the recent tsunami that hit Japan, I was contacted by Dirty Coast Press out of New Orleans to participate in a group design project to raise money for the relief effort. They asked a group of designers to each come up with a poster to be screen printed and sold. All profits from poster sales will go directly to the NOLA Japan Quake Fund.

BBR puts a little jingle in your pocket.

As BBR’s newest employee (and rookie blogger), I’m a little intimidated by this assignment, so I turn to my folks for advice.

“Write what you know,” advises Mom, always practical.

“What’s a ballog?” asks Dad, “Is that a Louisiana thing, like that boudin we ate?”

(He’s still reeling from the virtual delicatessen of assorted meats I bring home to my native Tennessee every few months.) No, Dad. This blog is not a meat product, but thanks anyway.

So, in the interest of practicality, I’m going with Mom’s advice and writing my inaugural blog (now that has an awfully nice ring to it…) about something I know: jingles.

My response: “What’s wrong?” My heart fell into my stomach. Her tone changed and I could hear the smile in her voice, “Cox secured Drew Brees. BUT (capital B-U-T) production needs to happen next Monday – a week from today.” (more…)

Cathi Pavy honored with Silver Medal Award and Denise Gallagher receives Art Director of the Year at Acadiana Advertising Federation’s 2010 ADDY Awards.

Day in and day out, the BBR Creative staff bears witness to the tireless efforts put forth by Partner and Creative Director Cathi Pavy. Whether we’re concepting alongside her to develop memorable creative or strategically assembling in-depth integrated branding campaigns, we reap the benefits of Cathi’s sheer versatility, which has proven instrumental to us as an agency.
