The most interesting part of my job is meeting entrepreneurs who have founded interesting companies.  It never ceases to amaze me how many different, interesting businesses we have here in Acadiana. Many of them have a pretty low profile and the average citizen does not even know they exist, particularly if they are business-to-business type organizations, and do not serve the average consumer.

Apple Gives Us a Little More Elbow Room

One of the problems with your old computer, whether you realize it or not, is storage space. All those songs, movies, TV shows, and photos take up an amazing amount of room. As we continue to get more of our entertainment content from non-traditional sources, it creates a new problem – figuring out where to put all of it! You certainly don’t want to throw away photos or movies just because you don’t have enough storage space.

Through the Eye of the Intern

I never imagined that interning at BBR would be such a blast. This summer I had the privilege of spending three weeks with the team.  I was able to tour the vendors that BBR works hand-in-hand with — Vidox, KATC, Action Specialties, Tri-Star Graphics, TownSquare Media —  meeting great people and learning something special about each one of them.

Little Things Make a Big Difference

Do you know someone who has been fighting in the Iraq or Afghanistan wars? That was the question Oprah and Tom Brokaw asked in a recent show about The Bravest Families in America. The question was an easy “yes” for me – my father retired eight years ago as a Commander in the United States Navy, after serving in Iraq. But the next question they posed really made me stop and think. “What you have done to help and honor these brave people and their families?” (more…)

Public relations practitioners, like advertisers, seem to know a little about a whole lot. With each new client comes new information and specialization in yet another business or type of service.  However, people in PR also know a lot about messaging and presenting those messages, so much so that when going about our day-to-day lives, we find interesting ways to share some of that knowledge.
