I was sitting in a board meeting for Acadiana Center for the Arts when I received the call from Kristen.
“Where are you? Are you coming back to the office?” she asked after a short and simple, “Hello.”
My response: “What’s wrong?” My heart fell into my stomach. Her tone changed and I could hear the smile in her voice, “Cox secured Drew Brees. BUT (capital B-U-T) production needs to happen next Monday – a week from today.” (more…)
My family has a love of fishing. It stems from my Daddy, who ran a deep-sea charter boat — The Sandy — out of Empire, Louisiana for years.
Dad is good friends with another fishing captain, Harold Staples, who runs a charter boat out of Destin, Florida. They met over 40 years ago when Harold was just a boy and my Dad was a young man. They have been”fishing” friends ever since. (more…)
